Probable Cause

Indicates that the authentication, which uses the Diffie Hellman - challenge handshake
authentication Protocol (DH-CHAP), failed on the EX_Port.

Recommended

Action

Verify that the shared secrets on both sides of the link match.

Disable and enable the ports by using the portDisable and the portEnable commands to restart
authentication.

Probable Cause

Indicates that virtual channel (VC) Link Init is enabled on the local switch and the remote switch is
negotiating in R_RDY mode. The fabric might not form properly.

Recommended

Action

Check the configuration on the local switch using the portCfgShow command to verify that the VC
Link Init is disabled, if the remote switch is configured in R_RDY mode or only capable of R_RDY
mode.

VC_RDY mode: Virtual-channel flow control mode. This is a proprietary protocol.

R_RDY mode: Receiver-ready flow control mode. This is the Fibre Channel standard protocol, that
uses R_RDY primitive for flow control.
