Select MSTP from the Mode list.

Select the Instance box.

Set the Instance ID field to 3.

Set the Root Type field to Primary.

Click Apply.

Configure Device B:
# Enter MST region view, configure the MST region name as example, map VLAN 10, VLAN 30,
and VLAN 40 to MSTI 1, MSTI 3, and MSTI 4 respectively, and configure the revision level of the

MST region as 0. (The procedure here is the same as that of configuring an MST region on

SecPath.)
# Enable MSTP globally and configure the current device as the root bridge of MSTI 4.

Select Network > MSTP > Global from the navigation tree, and make the following
configurations on the page similar to that shown in

Figure 51

.

Select Enable from the Enable STP Globally list.

Select MSTP from the Mode list.

Select the Instance box.

Set the Root Type field to Primary.

Configure Device D:

Verifying the configurations

You can use the display stp brief command to display brief spanning tree information on each device
after the network is stable.
