Overview

The Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) is a dynamic inter-AS Exterior Gateway Protocol.
There are three early BGP versions, BGP-1 (RFC 1105), BGP-2 (RFC 1163) and BGP-3 (RFC 1267). The

current version in use is BGP-4 (RFC 4271), which is the defacto Internet exterior gateway protocol used

between ISPs.

Configuring BGP in the web interface

Configuration prerequisites

Before you configure BGP, complete the following tasks:

Configure the link layer protocol.

Configure IP addresses for interfaces, and make sure that all neighboring nodes can reach each
other at the network layer.
