Configuring IGMP

As a TCP/IP protocol responsible for IP multicast group member management, the Internet Group

Management Protocol (IGMP) is used by IP hosts to establish and maintain their multicast group

memberships to immediately neighboring multicast routers.

Configuring IGMP in the Web interface

Configuration prerequisites

Before you configure IGMP, complete the following tasks:

Configure a unicast routing protocol so that all devices in the domain are interoperable at the
network layer.

Configure PIM-DM or PIM-SM.

Globally enable multicast routing

Required.
Globally enable multicast routing after selecting Network > Routing
Management > Multicast Routing. For more information, see

"Configuring multicast routing and forwarding."
By default, multicast routing is globally disabled.

Configuring IGMP interfaces

Required.
Enable IGMP and configure an IGMP version on interfaces.
By default, IGMP is disabled and the default IGMP version is 2.

Displaying IGMP multicast group
information

Optional.
View the IGMP multicast group information on interfaces.

Configuring IGMP interfaces

1.

Select Network > Routing Management > IGMP from the navigation tree.
The IGMP interface configuration page appears.

Click the

icon to enter the configuration page of the specified IGMP interface.

Configure IGMP interface as described in

Table 77

.

4.

Click Apply.
