[SecPath] interface GigabitEthernet 0/1

[SecPath-GigabitEthernet0/1] ipv6 address auto

With this command executed, if GigabitEthernet 0/1 has no IPv6 address configured, SecPath A
automatically generates a link-local address, and sends a router solicitation (RS) message, requesting the

gateway (SecPath B) to reply with an RA message immediately.

Verifying the configuration

After receiving an RA message with the M flag set to 0 and the O flag set to 1, SecPath A automatically

enables stateless DHCPv6.
# Use the display ipv6 dhcp client command to view the current client configuration information. If the
client successfully obtains configuration information from the server, the following information is

displayed.

[SecPath-GigabitEthernet0/1] display ipv6 dhcp client interface GigabitEthernet 0/1

GigabitEthernet0/1 is in stateless DHCPv6 client mode
