6.7 Copy Function Related Displays
◆ Tasks, Errors, and Troubleshooting
The table below lists the messages and errors that may appear when using the Copy function.
When executing the tasks offered by the Copy function, the operator will indicate the task being performed. When an
error occurs, a code appears on the operator to indicate the error. Note that errors related to the Copy function do not
trigger a multi-function output terminal that has been set up to close when a fault or alarm occurs. To clear an error,
simply press any key on the operator and the error display will disappear.
Table 6.12 lists the corrective action that can be taken when an error occurs.
Note: 1. Whenever using the copy function, the drive should be fully stopped.
2. The drive will not accept an Up/Down command while the Copy function is being executed.
3. Parameters can only be saved to a drive when the voltage class, capacity, control mode, and software version match.

Control mode of the parameters to be loaded onto the drive
and the control mode already set to the drive don’t match. Check the control mode for the parameters that are to be loaded onto the drive and the control mode set to the drive
those parameters will be written to. Set the same control mode using parameter A1-02 and try again.

Failed writing parameters. Try writing parameters again.

Hardware fault Replace the operator or the USB Copy Unit.

• The drives used in the copy and write process are not the
same model.
• The drive from which the parameters were copied is a
different model.
• The drive to be written to is a different model.
Check the model number of the drive from which the parameters were copied and the model of the drive to which you
are attempting to write the parameters. Make sure the two drives are the same model and have the same software
version.

ECE Copy Error
Cause Possible Solutions
Attempted to read data from the encoder during
undervoltage.
Make sure there is no undervoltage fault or alarm, then try reading the data again.

ECS Checksum Error
Cause Possible Solutions
Checksum error occurred when attempting to read data
from the encoder.
Try copying the data again.

EdE Write Impossible
Cause Possible Solutions
Drive settings do not permit writing to the encoder (F1-51 =
0), or there was a CPF24 while attempting to write to the
encoder.
Set the drive to allow encoder to be written to (F1-51 = 1) and try writing the data again.
