Guest registration prerequisites

When a guest account is successfully preregistered, UAM sends the account name and password to the

guest via SMS and email. To use the SMS and email function, first complete the following configuration:

Enable UAM to send SMS messages, and configure a correct telephone number or account name
for the guest. For more information, see "

Configuring SMS

."

2.

Configure mail server settings. For more information, see HP Intelligent Management Center v7.0

. Make sure the email address configured
for the guest is valid.

You can either register a single preregistered guest or bulk register multiple guests.

Registering a single preregistered guest

When you register a single preregistered guest, you can configure detailed information for the

preregistered guest. However, registering preregistered guests one at a time is not time efficient.
To register a preregistered guest:

1.

Access the preregistered guest list page.

2.

Click the Register icon for the preregistered guest you want to register.
The Register page appears.

Configure the basic information:

Guest Name—Modify the actual name of the guest.

Identity Number—Modify the number of the guest's identity certificate, for example, ID card or
passport.

Organization—Modify the organization of the guest.

{

Telephone—Modify the telephone number of the guest.

{

Email—Modify the email address of the guest.

4.

Configure the user access information.
A super guest manager can modify all user access information, including selecting a guest
manager. A guest manager cannot select a different guest manager, but can modify all other user

access information.

Account Name—Modify the account name that the guest uses to access the network. The
account name must be unique in UAM.

Validity Time—Modify the date and time when the guests become valid. Leave this field empty
if you want the guests to become valid immediately after being created.

Expiration Time—Modify the date and time when the guest expires and becomes invalid.

Password/Confirm Password—Change the password that the guest uses to access the network.

{

Visited Department—Modify the department that the guest visits.

{
