(Optional.) Add the HTTP user agent of the endpoint device as a transparent authentication

character. An endpoint device must match a transparent authentication character before UAM
can perform transparent portal authentication for it. UAM predefines lots of HTTP user agents.

Operators can also add new HTTP user agents. For more information, see "

transparent authentication characters

{

(Optional.) Configure transparent authentication parameters for endpoint devices in UAM
system settings. The parameters include Binding Lifetime, Disable transparent authentication
when the concurrent online time exceeds, and Disable Non-Smart Device Authentication.

Alternatively, you can use the default settings of these parameters. For more information, see "

Configure portal devices to support transparent authentication for endpoint devices. On an HP
Comware device, configure the portal mac-trigger server and portal mac-trigger enable

commands. For more information, see the command references of the devices.

Maintaining the transparent portal user list

The transparent portal user list records the bindings among the endpoint MAC address, access user

account, and service configuration for endpoint devices. When an endpoint device attempts to access

the network, UAM performs transparent authentication for the device by using the access user account
and service mapped to the endpoint MAC address.

Accessing the transparent portal user list page

1.

Click the User tab.

2.

Select Access User > Transparent Portal User from the navigation tree.
The Transparent Portal User page displays all the endpoint MAC address-account name/service
bindings.
