advertisement-interval <seconds>

Use the advertisement-interval command to configure the AOS to specify how long the BGP process
waits before sending updates to the neighbor.

Syntax Description

<seconds>

Specifies the advertisement interval in seconds. Range: 0 to 600.

Default Values

By default, the advertisement interval is 30 seconds for external neighbors and 5 seconds for internal
neighbors.

Applicable Platforms

This command applies to the NetVanta 300, 1000R, 2000, 3000, 4000, and 5000 and Total Access 900
Series units.

Functional Notes

This command sets the minimum interval between sending updates to the specified neighbor.

Usage Examples

The following example configures the BGP process to wait at least 100 seconds before sending updates to
the neighbor:

(config)#router bgp-neighbor 192.22.73.101
(config-bgp-neighbor)#advertisement-interval 100
