Troubleshooting the Control

The following steps are for executing the Initialization utility.

1.

While still in the selected directory, enter the command:

- INIT9S

This will run the file INIT9S.EXE

2.

The following should be displayed on the workstation screen:

Initialize AMP/PAL Utility

Revision 1.0

Allen-Bradley Company, 1992

Please Choose Initialize Function:

1. Remove Custom AMP and Load Default AMP

2. Remove PAL

3. Remove PAL, Remove AMP and Load Default AMP

4. Exit

Please Enter Selection

Important: Note that the selections having to do with AMP cause both the

AMP in RAM and the AMP in BACKUP to be removed from the control.

This in turn will cause the DEFAULT AMP to be loaded to RAM.

Important: Note that the selections having to do with PAL will cause the

PAL program in FLASH memory to be deleted.

3.

At this point, you should power-down the CNC, if you have not

already done so.

4.

Make a selection (1-4) on the workstation. The workstation screen

displays informative messages, and instructions.

5.

Connect the workstation’s serial port “COM1” to PORT B on the

CNC.

6.

Power-up the CNC. Then “press a key when ready” as indicated on

the workstation (PC). This will start the process of deleting the AMP

and/or PAL as selected in step 4.

7.

The Workstation and CNC screens will display the status of the

executing“INIT9S” utility. When complete, the utility is

automatically exited.

8.

Now cycle power to the CNC. This will load the default AMP (if

AMP was cleared).
