Replacement Procedures

To replace the main processor board battery:
1.
Backup up any data (typically part programs, PAL, AMP, tool offsets,
axis calibration, etc.) that is resident in RAM memory.
2.
Turn OFF all power to the control.
ATTENTION: To guard against electrical shock hazards, never
make connections or disconnections at the ac distribution
network unless the main ac disconnect switch is open and
locked.
Important: To prevent static discharge, the use of a ground strap is
recommended .
3.
Disconnect the old battery pack from the connector on the
motherboard.
4.
Loosen the four screws holding the battery pack to the component
enclosure.
5.
Replace the old battery pack with a new one and tighten the four
screws.
6.
Connect the new battery pack to the connector CN10 on the
motherboard.
7.
Turn ON power to the control.
8.
Download the the backed up data to RAM.
