Deleting Routers

Routers can be deleted from the NV9000-SE system at any time. NV9000-SE saves all configura-
tion changes to the database. Once changes are saved, there is no “undo” function; the configura-
tion is permanently altered. To implement configuration changes, the NV9000 control system must
write the configuration to the system controller. For more information, see

Implementing Configu-

ration Changes

on page 17.

NV9000-SE uses a relational database. This means that if a record is referenced by another record,
the deletion will not be allowed. If there are dependences, when the deletion is attempted, NV9000-
SE informs you of the dependencies. You can accept the deletion as it is currently or delete the
dependencies first, then delete the originally selected record.

Routers can be deleted using the ‘Routers’ page accessed through the ‘Configuration’ pane or using
the ‘Routers’ table accessed through the ‘Views’ pane.

How to Delete a Router Using the ‘Routers’ Page

1 Launch NV9000-SE. (See

Launching and Exiting the Application

on page 12.)

2 From the Navigation area, select the ‘Configuration’ pane and then ‘Routers’. The ‘Routers’

page displays, as shown in Figure 7-37.
To narrow the list, enter the first characters of the router’s name in the ‘Name Filter’ field. The
list is automatically reduced to display only routers matching that character string.
