12. Master Control

Updating Master Control Details

trol point must be a legitimate control point for the master control processor to successfully com-
municate with the rest of the control system. For example, if you change a master control
processor’s Ethernet connection without updating control point information in the ‘Control Point’
table, the Ethernet connection will fail.

The master control processor’s control point can be changed using the ‘Router Controls’ table
accessed through the ‘Views’ pane. You can only select from a list of existing control points. For
instructions on adding or updating control points, see

Managing Control Points

on page 381.

To view a list of current control points, from the ‘Views’ pane, select ‘Control Points’.

How to Update Control Points for Master Control

1 Launch NV9000-SE. (See

Launching and Exiting the Application

on page 12.)

2 From the navigation area, select the ‘Views’ pane and then ‘Router Controls’. The ‘Router Con-

trols’ table appears, as shown in Figure 12-11.

3 On the row listing the master control processor being updated, from the drop-down list in the

‘Control Point Description’ column, select a new control point.

4 Click

Updating Master Control Protocol

The NV9000 server supports several protocols for both Miranda and third-party routers. However,
for master control there is only one protocol: NV Master Control Ethernet. For more information,
contact Miranda Technical Support.
