Updating the Free Source Associated with a Level Set

A free source is a source, usually black and silence, that can be routed to a destination to free up
that destination. When you route a free source to a destination fed from a tieline or control port, it
frees that tieline or control port. If you are not using a tieline or a port router, the free source may be
left blank.

The free source associated with a virtual level in a level set can be updated using the ‘Level Sets’
page accessed through the ‘Configuration’ pane. Using the ‘Level Set Details’ table accessed
through the ‘Views’ pane, a free source can be updated and/or associated with an entire level set,
not just individual virtual levels.
