Device Connections Queries
Orphaned Physical Connections Query
The ‘Orphaned Physical Connections’ table enables you to view a list of virtual levels that are no
longer associated with any physical connections on any device in the NVISION system.
How to Query Orphaned Physical Connections
1 Launch NV9000-SE. (See
Launching and Exiting the Application
2 From the Navigation area, select the ‘Views’ pane, then ‘Queries & Advanced Operations’ and
then ‘Orphaned Physical Connections’. The ‘Orphaned Physical Connections’ table displays a
list of orphaned connections, if any.
To narrow the list, enter the first characters of a device name in the ‘Device Filter’ field.
And/Or
Enter the first characters of a level set name in the ‘Level Set Filter’ field.
And/Or
Enter the first characters of a virtual level name in the ‘Virtual Level Filter’ field.
The list is automatically reduced to display only corresponding information matching the char-
acter string entered.
3 Each device is listed by name in the ‘Device’ column, one device per row. ‘Level Set’, ‘Virtual
Level’, ‘Port’ and ‘Direction’ columns lists the corresponding information for that device. If
there is an entry in a column, the device has a port for that virtual level or level set. For more

X
on the window title tab to close the table.
Deleting an Orphaned Connection
Using the ‘Orphaned Physical Connections’ table, a virtual level that is no longer associated with
any device’s level set can be deleted.
How to Delete and Orphaned Connection
1 Launch NV9000-SE. (See

2 From the Navigation area, select the ‘Views’ pane, then ‘Queries & Advanced Operations’ and
then ‘Orphaned Physical Connections’. The ‘Orphaned Physical Connections’ table displays a
list of orphaned connections, if any.

3 Click anywhere in the row listing the connection being deleted.
4 Click
Delete
. The row is removed from the table.
5 Click
Save
.
Or to revert to previously saved configuration, click
Revert to Saved
.
