Creating a “Tree” of Pages

How to Create Pages

1 Locate the NV9640, NV9641 or NV9642 control panel being updated. (See

How to Locate and

View Existing Control Panels

on page 347.)

2 Select ‘Navigation’ from the ‘Button Type’ drop-down list. The ‘Edit Navigation Button’ dia-

log box appears:

3 In the ‘Navigation Button Caption’ fields, enter up to three lines of text, 8 characters long. The

text will display on the button on the control panel. Usually the text displays the page name and
button caption.

4 Select a radio button to determine what action occurs when the navigation button is pressed:

• Jump to an Empty New Page

This option creates a new page in the hierarchy. During

operation, the navigation button you are creating causes the control panel to display the
related page. That is, when selected all the buttons predetermined for this page display on
the control panel. After the page is created, you can select it at any time and edit its buttons.

• Jump to an Existing Page

This does not create a new page. Instead this causes the control

panel to display an existing page you have selected from the drop-down list.

• Use Auto-Fill to Create a New Button Page

Activates auto-fill options. Auto fill

automatically generates a number of button assignments on one or more subpages as
defined in the ‘Edit Navigation Button’ dialog box, as shown in Figure 11-47. Go to step 5.
If ‘Use Auto Fill....’ is left unchecked, the subpage has no new buttons assigned (except for
those specified as ‘Place this button on all child pages’).
