10. Categories
Updating Categories
All categories currently defined in the system are listed. To narrow the list, enter the first char-
acters of the category’s name in the ‘Mnemonic Filter’ field. The list is automatically reduced
to display only categories matching that character string.

3 Locate the row listing the category being updated.
4 Click in the ‘Mnemonic’ field to activate it and enter a new category name.
5 Click in the ‘Description’ field to activate it and enter a new category description.

Adding Devices to Existing Categories
Devices can be added to multiple categories. Devices can be added to categories using the ‘Catego-
ries’ page accessed through the ‘Configuration’ pane or using the ‘Category Details’ table accessed
through the ‘Views’ pane.
Device details can be updated directly from the ‘Categories’ page. Device details cannot be updated
from the ‘Categories’ table or the ‘Category Details’ table. For more information on devices, see
Devices on page 157.
How to Add a Device to a Category Using the ‘Category Details’ Page
1 Launch NV9000-SE. (See Launching and Exiting the Application on page 12.)
2 From the Navigation area, select the ‘Configuration’ pane and then ‘Categories’. The ‘Catego-
ries’ page appears, as shown in Figure 10-21.
