B. Control Panels
NV9602
• Display
—
two lines that ordinarily show the primary level of the current source and current
destination. The display can also show menu items and configuration options, such as panel ID.
• Arrows
—
up and down arrows are silk-screened on the panel to the right of the right-most but-
tons. Those buttons are used with the menu to increase or decrease values.
Modes of Operation
The panel operates in one of four modes.
• Single Destination Mode.
Single-destination mode is the NV9602’s basic mode. The panel’s single destination is assigned
in the configuration file, and Takes are performed on all levels.
• Limited X-Y Mode.
When the NV9602 is configured as a “limited” X-Y panel, status (showing the source) is pro-
vided for one destination at a time.
In limited X-Y mode, a Hold button will allow gang or dub switching. Destination selections
act as toggles and are cumulative
—
not mutually exclusive.
• Single Destination with Breakaway Mode.
The Breakaway Mode is an extension of the single-destination mode, with the addition of level
buttons.
• Multi-Destination Mode.
When panels are configured in multi-destination mode, specific groups of sources and destina-
tions are active simultaneously. The destination display (labeled “D”) shows the last destination
selected. The status display (labeled “S”) shows the source for that destination.
The mode is pre-programmed and cannot be changed at the panel itself. Refer to the NV9602
Multi-Mode Control Panel User’s Guide for more information.
Configurable Functions
Depending upon the selected mode, the NV9602 can be configured to perform the following func-
tions:
•
Previous Source
and
Free Source
.
•
Lock/Release
and
Protect/Release
for destinations.
• Single button to return to a pre-defined default state.
• Multiple source breakaways.
• Hold breakaway levels or multiple destinations.
• System salvos.
• A menu to change Panel ID and display and button illumination.
• In a multiple panel configuration, a
Force Release
of a locked or protected device can be config-
ured for each NV9602. However, note that
Release
and
Force Release
are mutually exclusive on
the same Control Panel.
