15. Salvos

Creating a Salvo

Depending on the action selected, either the ‘Sources’ or ‘Destination’ column, or both, are
active. Each column lists all source devices and destination devices in the NV9000-SE
system. For more information on devices, see

Devices

on page 157.

b Select the ‘Source’ or ‘Destination’ device, depending on the action.

c Select the virtual level for the source or the destination device.

d In the ‘Current Salvo Operations’ section, click

Append

. A description of the action appears

in the ‘Salvo Description’ section:

Example: Select ‘Take’ as the action and then select the source device ‘VTR’ and the virtual
level ‘SD’. Now select the destination device ‘VTR’ and the virtual level ‘AES’. The
resulting salvo will switch a signal on the selected VTR on the SD virtual level to the
selected VTR on the AES virtual level whenever the Take button on the control panel is
pressed.

e Repeat steps a through d until all actions for the salvo have been selected.

Master

Source only

The button reverses the direction of data

routing for devices used in data (control)
level takes. For example, if the (controlling)
destination is the master and the (controlled)
source is the slave, pressing Source Master

reverses the roles.

Broadcast

On the data (control) level, assigns one
controlling device (master) to multiple

controlled devices (slaves). Useful in
dubbing and editing applications. Status is
only reported from the first assigned slave.
