Adding Suffixes to Categories
3 Double-click on a single row to open details for that category. The ‘Category Details’ page
appears, as shown in Figure 10-5.

Click anywhere in the row listing the category being updated. Use the ‘Shift’ or ‘Ctrl’ key on
your keyboard to select multiple categories. Each category opens in a separate tabbed window.
Click the tab to bring that window forward.

4 Add suffixes to the category device-by-device. If using a NV5128-MC Master Control Panel,
suffixes cannot be defined. Instead, the device index number is used. See

5 Click
Auto-Fill Suffixes
located at the bottom of the page. The ‘Auto-Fill Suffixes’ dialog box
appears.
6 Click the radio button that corresponds to the “rule” you want to use to select suffixes. Each
rule divides the suffixes into separate groups, as follows:
• Parse by prefix
—
Parses suffixes by the prefix entered in the field provided. Prefixes can
include spaces or fill characters; prefixes are not case sensitive.
• Parse by fill character
—
Parses suffixes by selecting a fill character from the drop-down
list: space, zero, dash, or underline.
7 Click
OK
. The tables automatically applies all valid suffixes that match the selected rule to the
associated devices. Suffixes display on the row listing the corresponding device.
8 Click
Save
to apply the suffixes to all selected devices.
Or
To revert to the previously saved category definition, click
Revert to Saved
.
