11. Control Panels

Adding a Control Panel

4 In the ‘Button Layout’ section, select buttons and button definitions.

There are two classes of buttons:

• Those that assign a dedicated function to a button directly, such as ‘Def State’ (default state)

or ‘Clear’. No other options are available.

• Those that define a variable function, such as ‘Category’. Additional options display

enabling you to define the variables.

To select a button definition, do the following:

a There are two pages of buttons. By default the pages are named ‘Default’. Select the page to

which buttons are being added. Pages are numbered according to where they are in the
“tree,” with number 1 being the highest, or “parent” page and all other pages being “child”
pages.

b Select a blank button and then in the ‘Button Definitions’ section, select a definition for the

button from the drop-down list. The button definition appears on the selected button in the
‘Button Layout’ section.

c Choose the ‘Button Color’ from the drop-down list.

Deselect All

Destinations and
Turn off Hold after
Take

Hold normally has two functions: (1) allow multiple

selections prior to a "take" and (2) retain the selections
after the take with Hold remaining in effect.
When this option is selected, a Hold performs the first
function

allow multiple selections prior to a "take"

but not the second. The Hold deselects all destinations and
turns itself off after the take.
This option helps eliminate the time-consuming process of

finding all and deselecting destinations on many pages
after a “take” has been performed.

destination mode, switching to X-Y mode causes that
destination to become the current destination in X-Y
mode.

Jump Back After
Source Selection

Jumps back to the top page (default) after a destination i or
source is selected on another page. This does not function

when using a Suffix Page to select the destination.
‘Jump Back After Take’ jumps the top page after a new
source has been selected and a “take” performed. This can

be used with a Suffix Page. ‘Jump Back After Source
Selection’ must be un-checked or it overrides this option.

Destination Selection

Src/Dst Immediate

Take

Checking this option allows a “take” to occur from a

specified source to a selected destination when the Src/
Dst
button is pressed (source shown on top line,
destination shown on the bottom line).
If the check box is not checked, pressing the Src/Dst
button performs a preset of that source on that destination
and enables the Take button, which must then be pressed

to perform the “take”.
