Adding Categories
How to Add a Category Using the ‘Categories’ Table
1 Launch NV9000-SE. (See Launching and Exiting the Application on page 12.)
2 From the Navigation area, select the ‘Views’ pane and then ‘Categories’. The ‘Categories’ table
appears:

3 Click
Add
. A new row appears in the table.
4 In the blank row, click in the ‘Mnemonic’ column to activate it and enter a name for the cate-
gory. A mnemonic is a short, descriptive word or words for the category, such as Monitor, Stu-
dio A, and so on
5 In the same row, click in the ‘Description’ column to activate it and enter a description. This
description only displays in NV9000-SE Utilities.
6 Click
Save
.
Or
To revert to the previously saved configuration, click
Revert to Saved
.
7 (Optional) Associate devices with the category. See Adding Devices to Existing Categories on
page 216.
8 (Optional) Define suffixes for the category. See Adding Suffixes to Categories on page 195.
9 Click
X
on the window title tab to close the table.
Note A category cannot be added until devices have been defined. See Adding a
Device on page 159.
