B. Control Panels

NV9601

The scroll buttons also adjust the brightness of the panel buttons (when the operator selects the
brightness command from the menu). In addition, the buttons scroll through the devices in a
category when the user has selected a category. The selected device ID appears in the ‘Entry’
column of the display.

• Selection buttons

eight “soft keys” that select, enable, or disable items in the display. Each

selection button corresponds to one of the 8 lines in the display.

• Keypad and category area

20 buttons, 10 of which are have fixed functions. These are either

numeric buttons (0–9) or “category” buttons, depending on context. The other 10 buttons can
be assigned any function, including additional categories and suffixes.

The 10 numeric/category buttons are arranged like a standard push-button telephone keypad.

Modes of Operation

The panel operates in either an X-Y (single destination, with levels displayed) mode or a multi-des-
tination mode. A single button (XY/Mult) can toggle between the modes. The NV9601 can control
all sources and destinations

or a subset of them.

The primary modes of operation are:

• X-Y Mode

full control of all router levels. Choose a destination, optionally choose desired

breakaway levels, choose a source, and press

Take

to complete a desired route. In this mode, the

display shows status for up to eight levels. Additional levels (if present) are viewable by press-
ing the

Page Up

or

Page Down

buttons.

• Multi-Destination Mode

lets you control multiple destinations. The panel displays up to 8

destinations at a time. You can scroll through 8-destination pages using the

Page Up

or

Page

Down

buttons. Takes are “all level,” and breakaways cannot be performed. Individual destina-

tions are selected using the selection buttons located below the display.

Secondary modes include:

• Salvo Mode

pressing a

Salvo

button places the NV9601 in “Salvo” mode. The display moni-

tors the status of up to eight salvos at a time. Additional salvos (if any) are viewable by pressing
the

Page Up

or

Page Down

buttons.

• Menu Mode

pressing a

Menu

button places the NV9601 in “menu” mode. Pressing a

Selec-

tion

button displays submenus.

• Info Mode

pressing an

Info

button places the NV9601 in “info” mode. The display shows one

or more messages regarding, for instance, level mapping or breakaway status. Additional mes-
sage text (if any) is viewable by pressing the

Page Up

or

Page Down

buttons.

Configurable Functions

The NV9601 can be configured to perform the following functions:

• Previous Source, Free Source and “Quick” Source.

• Lock/Release and Protect/Release for both sources and destinations.

• Return to a pre-defined (or default) state.
