Updating the Device’s Assigned Level Set

A level set is composed of virtual levels. A virtual level typically represents a signal type used in
your system, such as AES or HD. Unlike physical levels that represent physical divisions and are
specific to a router or device, virtual levels are signal type abstractions that can be applied to all
routers and devices. Virtual levels are grouped together as level sets. Every device must have a
level set assigned and that level set must include virtual levels that encompass the signal types man-
aged by the device.

The level set(s) assigned to a device can be changed using the ‘Devices’ table accessed through the
‘Views’ pane. You can only select from a list of existing level sets. For instructions on adding or
updating level sets, see

Level Sets

on page 111.

To view a list of existing level sets, from the ‘Views’ pane, select ‘Level Sets’.

How to Update Device Level Sets

1 Launch NV9000-SE. (See

Launching and Exiting the Application

on page 12.)

2 From the Navigation area, select the ‘Views’ pane and then ‘Devices’. The ‘Devices’ table dis-

plays, as shown in Figure 9-13.
