10. Categories
Locating and Viewing Existing Categories
Enter the first characters of a device name in the ‘Device Filter’ field. The list is automatically
reduced to display only devices matching that character string.

Several columns display category information. Each row represents a single device and its
assigned category.

Category
Lists the category name (mnemonic).
Device
Lists the device associated with the category. For more information on devices, see
Index
The number to be used on a control panel in a category-index button combination.
Control panels that use categories and indexes must be configured to do so
—
it is not
automatic.
Device selection on NV5128-MC Master Control panels and GUIs require category-
index selection. Master Control does not recognize suffixes. Router control (those that
support category selection) accepts either indexes or suffixes.
Suffix (1-8)
Each column lists the suffixes assigned to that device in that category. Up to 8 suffixes
can be assigned.
