Updating Master Control Details

Updating Master Control Details

Master control name and IP address can be updated at any time. It is recommended that master con-
trol processors be updated off-line. That ensures that all settings are correct before you go “live.”
NV9000-SE saves all configuration changes to the database. Once changes are saved, there is no
“undo” function; the configuration is permanently altered. To use saved configuration changes, the
changes must be written to the NV9000 system controller. For information on implementing
changes, see

Implementing Configuration Changes

on page 17.

Master control information can be updated using either a page or the tables. The page accessed
through the ‘Configuration’ pane and the tables accessed through the ‘Views’ pane share database
fields. Changes made in a configuration page appear in other the tables and vice versa.

Different NV9000-SE pages perform specific tasks, as follow:

Changing a Master Control Name

It is important that master control processor names are unique and descriptive in order to avoid con-
fusion. Once changed, the new master control processor name populates all instances of that name
throughout the system.

Master control processor names can be changed using the ‘Routers’ page accessed through the
‘Configuration’ pane or the ‘Routers’ table accessed through the ‘Views’ pane.

How to Change a Master Control Name Using the ‘Routers’ Page

1 Launch NV9000-SE. (See

Launching and Exiting the Application

on page 12.)

2 From the navigation area, select the ‘Configuration’ pane and then ‘Routers’. The ‘Routers’

page displays, as shown in Figure 12-7.
To narrow the list, enter the first characters of the master control processor’s name in the
‘Router Filter’ field. The list is automatically reduced to display only master control processors
matching that character string.
