11. Control Panels

Adding a Control Panel

“parent” page. Each of the 30 buttons can execute a function or select an entirely new set of
functions on a lower level (“child” page) in the “tree.” The “tree” is not limited in size.
Click on a button to assign a function to it. Certain buttons have pre-assigned text. Do not
assign new functions to these buttons.

• Button Definitions

Assigns a function to the currently selected button in the ‘Button Layout’

field. The options available as definitions change depending on the options selected in the
‘Panel Options’ section.

• Page Table

This section includes a visual representation of the “parent” and “child” pages in

the “tree.” The “tree” is created by selecting ‘Navigate’ in the ‘Button Layout’ section.

• Outputs

The general-purpose I/O (GPIO) output connections at the rear of the control panel.

• Inputs

The general-purpose I/O (GPIO) input connections at the rear of the control panel.

• Panel Options

Specifies control panel behaviors, such as default operating mode.

The control panel options, button layout and button definitions are configured using the ‘NV940’
page. When saved, the configurations are communicated to the physical control panel and appear to
the operator using the control panel.

Important

When configuring the control panel, it is important to select control panel options
first. This determines the subsequent button definitions.
