Changing Tieline Cost

The cost associated with a tieline represents the financial expenditure required to route using that
tieline. The cost numbers are representative and not actual dollars. The lower the number, the
cheaper the tieline. For example, a cost of “1” means that the tieline is cheaper to use for switching
than a tieline with a cost of “3”. For more information, see

Costs

on page 457.

Tieline costs can be changed using the ‘Tielines’ table, accessed through the ‘Views’ pane.

How to Change a Tieline Cost

1 Launch NV9000-SE. (See

Launching and Exiting the Application

on page 12.)

2 From the Navigation area, select the ‘Views’ pane and then ‘Tieline’. The ‘Tieline’ table

appears, as shown in Figure 16-14.
To narrow the list of tielines that display, enter the first characters of a tieline name in the
‘Name Filter’ field. The list is automatically reduced to display only tielines matching that
character string.

3 Click on the ‘Cost’ field to activate it and enter a new cost number. Do not use decimal points,

commas or punctuations, however negative number (i.e., –2, –3) are allowed.
