Adding a Control Panel
Chop
All modes
When supported by the router, the button is a toggle
that enables and disables rapid switching of the
selected destination device between the current
source and the preset source. Used to test system
timing.
Clear
All modes
Clears the last input in a series of entries. Press
repeatedly to clear an entire sequence.
Clear Preset
All modes
Erases entries in the control panel’s ‘Preset’
column, while leaving the control panel in the same
mode. Recommended as a “safety” button.
Default State All modes
Returns the control panel to its pre-defined state.
Destination
All modes
Assigns a destination device to this control panel.

Lock
All modes
Sets or removes a “lock” on current destination
device. The lock can only be removed at the control
panel that originally set the lock, or by a control
panel that has ‘Force Release’ enabled. An “L” on
the control panel display indicates a “lock”.

All modes
This button initiates the destination selection
sequence, and lights all valid category buttons in
amber. Operators choose the desired destination in
XY mode, or the destination to add in multi-
destination mode.

Protect
All modes
Sets or removes a “protect” on current destination
device. The protect can only be removed at the
control panel that originally set the protect, or by a
control panel that has ‘Force Release’ enabled. A
“P” on the control panel display indicates a
“protect”.
Free Source
All modes
Defines a phantom device that can be used to
release or “free” devices on the data (control) level.
A free source is also used with tielines to free the
tieline for others to use. The free source is
configured in the Level Sets page.

Hold
All modes
Retains preset information after Take is pressed.
Useful when routing the same source to many
destinations.

All modes
Panel mode is changed to display system messages.
This button toggles between current control panel
mode and the info screen. A “+” sign indicates
messages are present. The Info button lights when
messages are available for viewing.
Level Map
All modes
Cross-connects levels (typically in the same
physical router). Typically used to shuffle audio
channels, for example, to connect AES1/2 to AES3/
4. When an Info button is configured, you can view
current cross-connects. The ‘Level’ mode is
cancelled when the next normal “take” is performed
involving the selected devices. (The Level Map
button becomes enabled only when there is a valid
preset.)
