Adding or Removing an Associated Category
A category is a class of devices, such as Monitor, VTR, and so on. Devices are associated with cat-
egories to make management of the devices easier. For example, if your facility has 58 monitors, it
is easier to add all monitors to the category MON and then assign a sequential number to each
(MON 1, MON 2, and so on up to MON 58), rather than coming up with a unique name for each of
the 58 monitors.
The categories assigned to a device can be changed using the ‘Devices’ table accessed through the
‘Views’ pane. You can only select from a list of existing categories.
To view a list of current coteries, from the ‘Views’ pane, select ‘Categories’.
