Updating Devices

How to Add a Physical Connection

1 Launch NV9000-SE. (See

Launching and Exiting the Application

on page 12.)

2 From the Navigation area, select the ‘Views’ pane and then ‘PhysConns’. The ‘PhysConns’

table appears:

3 Click

Add

. A blank row is added to the list of physical connections.

4 In the blank row, enter information in each column. Asterisks denote required fields:

5 Click

Save

. An ‘ID’ number automatically appears for the newly added physical connection.

To revert to previously saved configuration, click

Revert to Saved

6 Click

X

on the window title tab to close the table.

Column

Description

Description

Enter an optional description of the connectors.

Device

From the drop-down list, select the type of device for which the physical connections
are being added. For information on adding a device not currently listed, see

Adding a

on page 159.

Virtual Level

From the drop-down list, select the virtual level being associated with the physical
connections. The virtual level corresponds to the type of signal the connection carries.

For information on adding a virtual level not currently listed, see

Creating a Level Set

on page 114.

Port Number

Enter a unique port number for the connection. The number must be number (no letters

or symbols) and limited to 8 characters.

Port Type

From the drop-down list, select if the port is an ‘Output Port’, ‘Input Port’ or
‘Bidirectional Port’ (i.e., both input and output).
