Programming “traverse to a fixed stop”:
U
Position the slide at a sufficient distance before the fixed stop.
U
Use a moderate feed rate (< 1000 mm/min)
U
Program G916 or G916 Hx D1 in the G1 positioning block
U
Program G1 .. as follows:
Target position is behind the fixed stop
Move only one axis
Activate a per-minute feed rate (G94)
Example of traversing to a fixed stop:
Tailstock function (G916 with parameters)
G916 Hx D1 activates the tailstock function. The CNC PILOT
moves up to the workpiece and stops as soon as the contact force
has been reached.
deletes the remaining path of traverse
G916 D2 deactivates the tailstock function. The CNC PILOT
deactivates the tailstock function.
moves back by the servo lag + reversing path (MP 1112, 1162, ..)
G916 D2 can be combined with a G1 positioning block
