10.3 Parameters and Operating

Resources

The CNC PILOT saves parameters and operating resource data in
“internal formats.” Before data is transferred or backed up, it is
converted to ASCII format. Vice versa, i.e. when loading or restoring,
the CNC PILOT converts the received parameters/operating resource
data back to the “internal format” and integrates it in the active
parameter/operating resource files in the control.

When converting to ASCII format, the CNC PILOT saves the data in
specific directories. Accordingly, when converting to the “internal
format”, the CNC PILOT expects the data to be located in the same
directories.

With parameters and operating resource data, the CNC PILOT
differentiates between:

„

Data exchange (save/load): Transfer individual files or individual
parameters/operating resources. The data is saved/expected in the
PARA_USR directory during the conversion.

„

Data backup (backup/restore): The CNC PILOT backs up all
parameters/operating resource data or restores all existing backup
files. The data is saved/expected in the “BACKUP directory during
the conversion.

In the second step, use the standard transfer functions to transmit the
files created by the transfer/backup to the destination system. To load
parameters/operating resources or restore backed-up files, first
transfer them to the appropriate directories of the CNC PILOT before
starting the loading or restoring operation.

The CNC PILOT distinguishes between the following file types for
parameters and operating resources, which can be selected in the
“Mask of files” dialog box:

All: All parameters, operating resources and fixed-word lists

„

Tool data: Tool database

„

Chucking equipment data: Chucking equipment database

„

Fixed-word data: All fixed-word lists

„

Technology data: Technology database

„

Machine data: Machine parameters

„

Control data: Control parameters

„

Machining data: Machining parameters

„

Setup data: Setup parameters

„

PLC data: PLC parameters
