Backing up and restoring data

Create a data backup: Backing up all parameters and operating
resources is performed in two steps:

U

Select “Backup” to create backup files.

U

Use the standard transfer functions to transfer the

backup files to an external system.

The backup function converts the following data to ASCII format and
transfers it to the “BACKUP” directory:

All parameters

„

All operating resource data

„

All associated fixed-word lists

„

Maintenance system files

The backup files you created are assigned the file name BACKUP.*
and the specific extension of the parameter/operating resource file.
The fixed-word lists are assigned the language code as the file name,
followed by *.FWL as the file name extension. The backup will
overwrite any existing files.

Backup

Select “Parameter conversion > Backup/Restore” in the Transfer
menu.

Place the cursor in the left window.

Press the soft key. The CNC PILOT creates the
backup files.

Press the ESC key to return to the Transfer main
menu.
