Contour checking

With the functions of the “Contour” menu you can adapt the contour
to the progress of machining, or switch to contour dimensioning or 3-
D view.

Contour follow-up:

U

Select “Contour > Contour follow-up”: The simulation deletes all
previously depicted traverse paths and updates the contour
according to the simulated progress of machining. The CNC PILOT
takes the blank part as a basis and accounts for each cut.

Displays the contour according to its current state of progress:

U

Select “Contour > Contour follow-up”: The simulation updates the
contour according to the simulated progress of machining.

U

Select “Contour > Dimensioning”: The simulation activates the
element and point dimensioning (see “Contour dimensioning” on
page 375).

3-D view

U

Select “Contour > 3-D view”: The simulation switches to 3-D view
(see “3-D View” on page 382).

Saving the generated contour

You can save a contour generated in the simulation and read it into DIN
PLUS. In DIN PLUS, you insert the workpiece blank into the program
and finished part contour that you generated during simulation (block
menu “Insert contour”).

Example: You describe the blank form and finished part and simulate
machining of the first setup. Then you save the machined contour and
use it for the second setup.

During contour generation, the simulation saves:

„

BLANK: The simulated contour's state of progress

„

FINISHED PART: The programmed finished part

The simulation takes into account a shift of the workpiece zero point
and/or a mirror image.

Save the contour:

U

Select “Contour > Save contour”: The simulation opens the dialog
box “Save contours as NC subprogram.” Input Fields:

„

Unit: Contour description metric or in inches

„

Contour: Selection of the contour (when there are more than one)

„

Shift: Shifting the workpiece zero point

„

Mirroring: Mirror/do not mirror the contours
