8.3 Technology Database

The CNC PILOT saves the technology data (cutting values) in a three-
dimensional table depending on the following information:

Material (of the workpiece)

„

Cutting material (material of the tool's cutting edge)

„

Machining operation

The types of machining are specified. Define the workpiece material
and cutting material by fixed-word list and assign them to the table
(see figure).

The cutting data is managed in the technology editor.

The TURN PLUS working plan generation uses the technology data. In
addition, you can use the database for saving your “own” cutting data.

The data defined in the fixed-word lists for the workpiece
material and cutting material must be aligned with the
cutting data entered.

If you change the fixed-word list of workpiece/cutting
material, the cutting data will not be adjusted
automatically. In this case, you also need to change the
cutting data to ensure correct technology data.
