User Guidelines

Only one of sparse or dense mode can be configured on a router.

Example

console(config)#ip pim sparse

ip pim ssm

Use the ip pim ssm command in Global Configuration mode to

administratively configure PIM source specific multicast range of addresses

for IP multicast routing. Use the no form of this command to remove

configured ranges of addresses from the router.

Syntax

ip pim ssm {default |

group-address group-mask

}

no ip pim ssm {default |

group-address group-mask

}

Parameter Description

Default Configuration

There are no group addresses configured by default.

Defines the SSM range access list to 232/8.

group-address

An IP multicast group address.

group-mask

An IPv4 mask in a.b.c.d form where a, b, c and d range from 0-

255.
