IP Addressing Commands

ip address (Out-of-Band)

Use the ip address command in Interface Configuration mode to set an IP

address for the service port. Use the no form of this command to return the ip

address configuration to its default value.

Syntax

ip address {

prefix-length

} | dhcp}

no ip address

Parameter Description

Default Configuration

The out-of-band interface (service port) obtains an IP address via DHCP by

default.

Command Mode

Interface (Out-of-Band) Configuration mode

Parameter

Description

ip-address

Specifies a valid IP address.

mask

Specifies a valid subnet (network) mask IP address.

prefix-length

The number of bits that comprise the IP address prefix. The

prefix length must be preceded by a forward slash (/). (Range: 1-

30 bits)

dhcp

Obtain the service port address via DHCPv4.
