ipv6 pim rp-candidate

Use the ipv6 pim rp-candidate command to configure the router to advertise

itself to the bootstrap router (BSR) as a PIM candidate Rendezvous Point

(RP) for a specific multicast group range. Use the no form of this command

to return to the default configuration.

Syntax

ipv6 pims rp-candidate vlan {

vlan-id group-address group-mask

}

no ipv6 pims rp-candidate vlan {

vlan-id group-address group-mask

}

Parameter Description

Default Configuration

None - The router does not advertise itself as an RP candidate by default.

Global Configuration mode

User Guidelines

There are no user guidelines for this command.

Parameter

Description

vlan-id

A valid VLAN identifier with multicast routing enabled.

group-address

A valid Multicast group address.

group-mask

A mask indicating the range of multicast groups for which the

router should advertise itself as an RP-candidate.
