Instance Name: Enter a partial or complete instance name in the Instance Name field for the
instance(s) you want to locate.

Click Query to begin your search. The results of your search display in the Monitor List.

Click Reset to clear the query criteria you typed in the Query area and query all the monitored
instances.
Managing device monitors
In addition to the default monitor instances that are created for all devices by default, you can add
monitor instances by choosing from a list of system or globally defined monitor indices. Once a monitor
instance is created, you can modify the monitor instance to add thresholds for alarming on performance
issues for selected devices.
Adding monitor instances
To add one or more monitor instances for devices:
1.
Navigate to Resource > Monitoring Settings:
a.
Click the Resource tab from the tabular navigation system on the top.
b.
Click the Performance Management link on the navigation tree on the left.
c.
Click Monitoring Settings under Performance Management from the navigation system on the
left.
The device Monitor List appears.

To enter the Add Monitor window, do one of the following:

Select one or more devices you want to add monitor instances for and click Add Monitor at the
top of the Monitor List. You can click Add Monitor without selecting any devices.

Click the Add link of the device you want to add monitor instances for in the Operation column
on the Monitor List.
The Monitoring Settings-Add Monitor window appears.

Select the method you want to use for adding performance instances: Monitoring Device or
Monitoring Instance.
The Monitoring Device option enables you to add all instances of one or more indexes to devices.
The Monitoring Instance option enables you to add specific instances of one or more indexes to
devices.
4.
Select monitor indexes:
a.
Click Add in the Select Index area.
The Select Index window appears.
b.
Select Common Index or All Index.
c.
Click the Expand icon for an index group to view all indexes contained in that group.
d.
Select indexes to monitor.
e.
Click OK.
All selected indexes are displayed in the Select Index area of the Monitoring Settings-Add
Monitor window.
5.
Configure the threshold settings for the selected indexes:
a.
Click the Configure icon
for an index whose threshold settings you want to modify.
