Click Refresh to update the Service Monitor List.

Adding a service monitor

To add a service monitor:

1.

Navigate to Resource > Service Monitor:

a.

Click the Resource tab from the tabular navigation system on the top.

b.

Click Performance Management section of the navigation tree on the left.

c.

Click Service Monitor under Performance Management from the navigation system on the left.

The Service Monitor List displays all service monitors.

Click Add Monitor.
The Add Service Monitor window appears.
Before you add a service monitor, make sure the server on which IMC is running has been added
to the IMC system.

Enter a unique monitor name in the Monitor Name field, a string of 1 to 32 characters.

Select the service type to be monitored from the Select Service Type list. Options include DHCP
Service Monitor, DNS Service Monitor, FTP Service Monitor, Internet Service Monitor, RADIUS

Service Monitor, and SNMP Service Monitor.

5.

Select the monitor index. Options include service-name Unreachability Proportion (%) and
Response Time of service-name (ms).
The configuration parameters vary with service types.

DHCP Service Monitor

Enter the IP address of the DHCP server in the Server Address field.

Enter the MAC address of the client for which you want to test reachability to the DHCP server, in
the format of xx-xx-xx-xx.

Select the Use Unicast option if you want to send the testing packets in unicast. If you do not select
this option, the packets are sent in broadcast.

DNS Service Monitor

Enter the IP address of the DNS server in the Server Address field.

Enter the fully qualified domain name (FQDN) of the DNS server in the FQDN field.

FTP Service Monitor

Enter the IP address of the FTP server in the Address field.

Enter the listening port used by the FTP service in the Port field.

Enter the FTP login username in the Username field.

Enter the login password for the FTP user.
Leave the Username and Password fields empty if you want to use anonymous logins.

Internet Service Monitor

Enter a URL in the address bar of the Web browser.

Select the Use HTTP Proxy option if HTTP proxy is enabled for the Web service, and then configure
the following parameters:

HTTP Proxy Address: Enter the IP address of the HTTP proxy server.
